Full-time · 12-month fixed term
The role
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract, with the potential to be extended or converted to a permanent role.
You ask “why” more than a four-year-old, you have opinions about which AI model is best for which job, and you have never once said “that’s not my job”. Good. We should talk.
SevTech is a Dublin-based AI and cloud consultancy. We are ISO 27001 certified and we build for regulated enterprises in financial services, insurance, telecoms, and aviation – organisations where “move fast and break things” is not a strategy anyone will sign off on. Unlike most consultancies, we work the full stack, from infrastructure up, and we also build Forge, where autonomous coding agents build from structured requirements. The better the requirements, the better the build.
We need a senior business analyst who can sit between the people with the problem and the people building the answer, and make sure both leave the room understanding the same thing.
What you’ll actually do
No two weeks look the same, which is either the best or worst sentence in this spec, depending on you.
Turn fog into requirements. Run workshops with client stakeholders, work out what they need (which is not always what they asked for), and write it down so a developer, or an AI agent, can build it without guessing.
Map how things really work. Document current processes, spot the gaps, and design the future state, including where AI genuinely helps and where it would just be expensive decoration.
Feed the machine. Prepare structured requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria that go straight into Forge. Clear inputs, better outputs.
Keep several plates spinning. Work across two to four client and internal projects at once, from compliance and identity programmes to new product builds.
Think about risk early. Help clients understand what GDPR, DORA, NIS2, and Central Bank expectations mean for the thing being built, before anyone has built it.
Close the loop. Test that what was delivered matches what was agreed, and translate between business and technical teams whenever the conversation drifts.
The three things we won’t compromise on
Skills can be taught. These are harder to fake.
You are properly curious about AI. Not “I tried ChatGPT once” curious. You are actively learning, at work, in your own time, or both. Maybe you have built a prompt library, automated part of your job, done an Anthropic Academy course, or fallen down a rabbit hole about agents at 11pm on a Tuesday. You don’t need to be an expert. You do need to be someone who goes and finds out.
You can hold more than one thing in your head. You will move between projects in the same day, sometimes the same hour. You know how to prioritise, keep your notes in order, and tell people early when something is about to slip, rather than late when it already has.
“Not my job” is not in your vocabulary. We are a growing company. Some days the job is a requirements workshop; other days it is tidying up a backlog, sitting in on a security review, or helping a colleague get a proposal out the door. If something needs doing and you can help, you help. If you can’t, you find the person who can.
What you’ll bring
You’ll have
10+ years in delivery – as a business analyst or in another delivery role where you did the job without the title
Experience running workshops and interviews, and writing requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria people actually read
Comfort with process mapping (BPMN, swimlanes, or a whiteboard and a steady hand)
Clear written English and the confidence to challenge a senior stakeholder politely
Hands-on use of AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot in your day-to-day work
Bonus points for
Experience in financial services, insurance, telecoms, or aviation
Familiarity with GDPR, DORA, NIS2, or ISO 27001 in practice, not just as acronyms
Working alongside cloud, DevOps, or security teams
Agile delivery and tools such as Jira or Confluence
A side project, blog post, or GitHub repo that shows your AI curiosity in action
What you get
Real AI work, on real systems, for organisations where getting it right matters
Time and support to keep learning, including structured AI training and certification
A small team where your ideas are heard on Monday and, quite possibly, built by Friday
Exposure to the full stack, from infrastructure and security to product and client delivery
Remote-first working: on-site time is usually 1–2 days a week, for client sites or workshops in our Sandyford office
